DRIVERS

We have several different needs for drivers

-          There is always a need for drivers on our small spay/neuter transports. Currently, we have two drivers who do a total of 4 transports a month. This entails meeting trappers in town (typically Hardee's or Ingles) around 6:45 am to collect kitties to drive to Foothills Animal Health Center in Catawba county. The drive is one and a half hours. The driver then waits until the cats are awake and ready to be driven back to Ashe County to be picked up at the same site they were dropped off.

-          We often have emergency situations in which an injured/ill cat must be taken to the vet immediately or as soon as possible (e.g., the next day). If you have a flexible schedule, this may be the perfect volunteer opportunity for you. It entails meeting someone to pick up kitty, taking them to the vet and returning them back home.
