Event Volunteer

Fundraisers

Coordinator (or helper to just attends and helps 

with questions and the care of cats). 

Coordinator does the following:

  • Find and reserve the location

  • Write articles for the papers

  • Approve posters

  • Schedule volunteers

  • Schedule tasks to be completed

  • Make sure that volunteers have the necessary tools to carry out their function (ie:  for the rummage sale they need scissors, price tags, pens, pencils, tape, paper etc)

  • Work the event

  • Makes sure the site of the event is returned to its original condition

  • Writes follow-up articles for the web and papers or sends information to someone who will

There are many volunteers who have worked at our large fundraisers for several years, they know the basics. The coordinator is needed to make sure that everything gets done.  You should be organized, able to direct people and work with the public.

 

Christmas in July Event (one day a year)

  • Park cars with other volunteers

  • Help with set-up and clean-up

 

 

Outdoor Events such as Wine Festival, Blessing of the Animals, Fall event at Church of the Frescoes (once a month, weather permitting)

  • Set-up the tent

  • Take items to sell and promote ACHS

  • Man the booth during the event

  • Clean-up and return tent and items to the center

 

Indoor Events such as Adoption Events at Pet Supplies Plus in Boone, NC

  • Set-up the cages, cats and kittens

  • Take items to sell and promote ACHS

  • Man the booth during the event

  • Clean-up and return cages, cats/kittens and items to the center

 

Other:
