Christmas Open House with Santa!All are invited to the Ashe Humane Society's Open House on Saturday, December 3rd. We will have refreshments and holiday cheer -- but most of all, we will have SANTA! Bring your camera, and get your picture taken with Santa for free. Santa will be available for pictures with pets and kids! |

Raffle Tickets!Ashe Humane Society is now selling tickets for our annual 40/60 raffle! You can purchase raffle tickets at our Pet Resource Center now through early December! The drawing will be held at the Center on December 3, 2011. The lucky winner will receive 40% of the total amount raised. You don't need to be present at the drawing to win. 1 ticket - $2 3 tickets - $5 |

Fearless Fostering!Thank you to everyone who attended our Fearless Fostering session! We had a lot of fun sharing the information, tips and personal accounts of our foster program! If you missed the session but want information about fostering, please contact us at (336) 982-4297 or ashehumane@skybest.com. _________________________ At Ashe Humane Society, we have a strong commitment to fostering as an alternative to sheltering animals. When placed in a foster home, the pet has an opportunity to shine, grow and learn. We would like to invite you to a program on fostering that will explain our approach, our commitment to the foster family, resources provided, and the commitment that the foster family needs to make to the pet. There is NO FEAR – it is all FUN!
As a part of the program, we are delighted to be able to offer valuable and insightful tips from a certified trainer on recognizing behavioral signals in dogs and what to do about them. Lisa Mallory of Good Dog! Training and a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers will lead this segment of the program. When a foster dog first comes into your home, it can be a stressful situation for everyone – the new dog, your own animals and you; likewise when a cat comes into a home with a resident dog. With the knowledge you will gain from Lisa’s presentation, you will be better prepared to make the transition a smooth one and also enhance the foster dog’s social skills and thus improve its adoption chances.
