Bow Wow and Cat's Meow Drive for Animals
The children of Mrs. Field’s 1st grade class and Mrs. McClure’ 3rd grade class at Mountain View Emelentary School selected the Ashe Humane Society for its community service project. They titled the event the Bow Wow and the Cat’s Meow Drive for Animals. The children set up a station at the entrance of the school to receive donations for three weeks. They colored pictures of animals being well treated and learned about the Ashe Humane Society’s goals. To raise awareness of the needs of the organization, the children passed out flyers with the needs of the Ashe Humane Society listed on one side and fun facts about cats and dogs on the other. The response from the whole school was tremendous.
