Adoption Process
ADOPTERS
You may come to the Resource Center on Saturday's from 10 am - 3 pm to see the animals that are currently available. We have a questionnaire that must be completed before an adopter can take a pet home. If you rent an apartment or your home, we require that you bring a signed document from your landlord stating that pets are allowed. This prevents the return of animals that are not permitted in rentals.
We make every effort to find a great home for the animals who are brought to the center. The number of pets will vary from week to week. Our adoption fees are shown below. This fee covers the spay/neuter cost for your new pet. Adopters are responsible for having the pet vet checked and vaccinated.

Our adoption fees are non-refundable. The fee is used to pay the cost of the spay/neuter procedure for pets that have not had the surgery. Fees for pets that have already been spayed or neutered are used to offset the cost of our foster program.

OWNERS
ACHS holds adoptions every Saturday at the Resource Center from 10 am - 3 pm. Local residents may bring pets that are available for adoption to the Resource Center.
Since we are not currently licensed to keep pets permanently, owners must pick the pet up by 3 pm on Saturday if it isn't adopted. They can bring the pets to the center every Saturday until they are adopted. We take pictures of the available pets, post them on our website, Petfinder and advertise them in the local papers. Owners should bring all vet records for the pet with them to the center. This includes vaccination records and information regarding spay/neuter.
